A distinctive feature of our lakes is that they were created by converting meadow soils - originally developed for rice farming in the 1950s but found unsuitable for that purpose - into fish ponds. This process resulted in the creation of ring-dike fish ponds ideally suited for fish farming. Spanning a total area of 160 hectares, our complex comprises five fish-production ponds, five larger ponds suitable for both rearing and holding fish, and five medium-sized holding pools.
Our fish farm focuses primarily on rearing live fish for angling purposes, with a particular emphasis on carp. We raise this species - the most sought-after and widespread in Hungary - in sizes ranging from standard to "extra" (boilie-ready) categories; the rearing process can take up to six years before the fish are stocked into angling lakes and natural waters for recreational and sport fishing.
In addition to our primary species, the carp, we also raise grass carp, for angling, catfish for consumption, and crucian carp for both culinary and angling purposes. A key achievement of our pond farm is the ecological value generated by our purpose-built ponds, which have significantly revitalized the surrounding wetland habitat. This has enriched the area with a diverse array of waterfowl, mammals, amphibians, reptiles, and arthropods, as well as various reeds and aquatic plants.
